I have a very busy but fun weekend in store! Saturday I am headed to Cbus for a few animal adjustments, then a bbq and then to see the sex and the city movie! I am really looking forward to this movie, the reviews aren't great but I cant wait to see it anyway.
Then Sunday it is off to Greenville to garden and help Matt paint. That should be fun, exhausting but fun. Also I have to make cookies, I promised them to someone and I had better deliver.
I am going to need a weekend after my weekend just to recover!

what to do?
Well I had a good meeting this morning with another chiro. We really hit it off but she was kind of vague about some things (granted it was our first meeting). So now I am just not sure what steps to take. Thank GOD for my friends who are full of good advice and practical experience. She wants me to work part time (Saturdays) to test the water and make sure its a good fit. I may just do that on the side and see what I think. It seems like a good way to find out what this place is like. I am open to comments, give me your thoughts!

weekend update
I had a very busy weekend. Thank goodness it was 3 days!
Saturday I went to St. Marys. On my way I did my first dog transport. It was great! I took 3 adorable beagle mix puppies. They were so sweet and cute! I really enjoyed myself!
Then I saw some friends and family and saw the new Indiana Jones. It was actually very good. I really liked it. I even had some much needed girl time!
Sunday we went to the Jeffersonville outlets. Nothing exciting there, but Paul and I had a serious talk about the future and we came up with a little game plan for the next few years!
Monday we cleaned then went to paul's parents for dinner and I worked on the garden. It is coming along great! Everything is growing like crazy! They only think that hasn't come up yet is cantaloupe. I even have 4 pumpkin plants up. The lima beans aren't looking to great but they are trying. Much to my surprise the black beans look awesome. I cant wait to dig into some of this great produce!
That was about the extent of my weekend. Tomorrow I have a meeting that I am looking forward to then its back to work in the afternoon. I guess all fun has to end sometime...........

Excited
I am doing my first dog transport on Saturday. I am on a transport list, so basically what happens is dogs get rescued from one area and transported to another to be with a rescue or get a new home. So people sign up for legs of the trip. I am going home anyway so I signed up for the dayton to lima leg. I will be transporting 3 beagle mix puppies! I cant wait. Ever since I saw the movie year of the dog I have wanted a beagle so I am looking forward to meeting these little girls and helping them get into a good situation!

When is enough enough?
I have been struggling with something lately and I am having a hard time deciding if I should push on or call it quits... Normally I am one who just keeps on pushing and doesn't give up, but sometimes that can really be a fault. If the negatives out weigh the positives maybe its time to give up the fight. I go back and forth on this a lot. Some days I think I am so done, others I think I can I hang in their for a while and see how it goes. I am just not sure what to do. I guess for now I will hang in there but maybe I will start to check out some of my other options...just to see.
Garden
Well I am 2 weeks in on my garden adventure. So far so good! The carrots, beets, lettuce, peas, sugar snap peas and black beans are growing like crazy. The spinach, green beans, yellow beans and lima beans are starting to sprout and I have 3 or 4 zucchini plants started. The only things that aren't showing any signs of growth are the pumpkins and the cantaloupe. I am hoping they are just taking a little bit longer to surface. We will see. Hopefully in a month or so I will have plenty of veggies to eat!

The office!
Tonight's finale of the office was amazing! But I am so upset that Jim didn't propose to Pam. Stupid Andy ruined everything.
Their were lots of surprises though....
a pregnancy
an engagement (again not the one I wanted)
and a total hookup at the office
What a great episode. Now I have to wait it out till September to see what happens next..........

wierdness
I just found out that one of the girls I went to chiro school with is marrying one of our old professors. Don't get me wrong if they are happy then I am happy but a small part of me is totally weirded out! She is my age and he has to be around 60 and has a daughter about our age. Really it is not even the age difference as much as the fact that it was our teacher. I just struggle with the idea of going from Professor can you help me dissect this to Professor do you wanna make out...........(I doubt it really happens quite that way but you get the idea).
Anyway I wish them all the best!

Lauren
Lauren, my 14 year old sister, came up to stay the weekend with me and we had a really nice time. One of the things we had to do was pick a song for her glitter and gold tryouts. We picked Our Song by Taylor Swift and I made her practice all day! Well it paid off. She got a call back for a second tryout! I am so excited for her. I guess we will see what happens!

God bless dogs!
If I thought I couldn't love my dogs anymore I was wrong. Tonight we were out on our usual nightly stroll thru the neighborhood with the pups and something caught Bella's eye. It was a plastic bunny statue about a foot tall with the ears. Bella decided to check it out so for about 3 minutes the dogs stood their and barked at it and kept creeping closer and then quickly darting back. They were so freaked out by it. I was laughing my head off! I finally had to go up to it and knock on it to show them that it was fake. Then they got the courage to go and smell it (and they were still barking).
This was the best part of my day today! God bless all our little angels for giving us much needed comfort, happiness and entertainment!

Garden update!
My garden has been planted for a full week now. Sunday I went to check on its progress and much to my happiness it had already started sprouting! The beets and the lettuce mix are really coming in. Everything else is still looking spotty but I am sure it will come along.
The only bad thing is all this rain has made a lot of my beans surface, I had to go thru and push a bunch of beans back down into the dirt. Otherwise it is going great. Above is a picture 1 week in!

Ladies night
Friday night was my grandma (Janet's) 75th birthday. All of the girls from 3 generations went out to dinner and to my cousin Ashley's after for cake. It was a nice time. I made a delicious peanut butter crunch cake and it was nice for all of us to get together. I just cant believe grandma is 75. She doesn't seem it at all. She is still so young to me. I would put her in her early 60's if I had to guess. I hope I am that young and vibrant when I am 75!
Well anyway we all enjoyed it. Happy Birthday Janet!

The cuteness of a 14 year old
So Lauren my 14 year old sister calls this week with an idea for mother's day for our mom. She wants to take a family picture for her in "coordinated outfits". This would be all good and fine except neither of my brothers will be in town, so the family photo will be her and I. I guess it will be a nice pic of the the 2 of us but I just cracked up when she told me. I also said no matching outfits! This so reminds me of being a kid and my friends and I thought it was so cool to dress alike. lol.
Anyway we agreed on doing it and just having complimentary colors. So she is coming to stay with us for the weekend to get our project done. I am looking forward to her visit, we should have a nice weekend together. (On a side note last time she stayed with us paul showed her the scene from 3 men and a baby with the dead kid on utube and it totally freaked her out and she slept on her mattress on our bedroom floor)
Oh the innocence of youth!

The Office!
Tonight's episode of the office was ok, nothing great. But I really think its leading up to Jim and Pam getting engaged next week! That will make me so happy. I know its only a show but I (and about a million other people) have been rooting for them for a long time. I guess next Thursdays 1 hour season finale will tell the tale!

gardening
So I started my garden this weekend and it felt great! It was very therapeutic to have my hands in the dirt and just feel like a part of the earth. that may sound weird, but I have just felt very lost and disconnected lately. Like nothing is going the way I want so anyway it felt good to feel connected to life again.
I planted beets, carrots, lettuce, spinach, green beans, yellow beans, peas, snow peas, black beans, lima beans, cantaloupe, zucchini and pumpkins! I started everything from seeds. I am really looking forward to watching my garden grow!

This really makes sense!
SLAVE TO SUGAR
Sweets More Addictive Than Dope
Having a hard time cutting back on sweets? New research may explain why: Sugar is possibly even more addictive than cocaine. University of Bordeaux researchers monitored 43 rats given a choice of sugar water or cocaine and found 94% preferred the sweet stuff.
The rodents also demonstrated an overwhelming preference for saccharine, indicating taste (vs. calories) as the driving force and suggesting that artificial sweeteners may be just as addictive as sugar. Increasing the dope dosage did nothing to deter the sweet-addled test subjects. Even more astounding is that when cocaine-addicted rodents were deprived of drugs for 10 days, they still chose the sugar high over a drug fix.
Sugar consumption may elevate levels of the brain chemical dopamine, which in turn intensifies cravings for sweets, thus perpetuating an addictive cycle.
Obesity is not the only result of excessive sugar consumption -- sugar itself can damage your arteries and your skin.
Bonus: Vigorous exercise will not only help you burn more calories and extend your lifespan -- it can also help tame your sweet tooth.
I have got to agree with this. I never had a problem giving up the meat but sweets are killer to give up!
